We did it! The roof is complete. We chose to do green tin roofing. Green is part of our color scheme and using the tin will we be light and provide a soothing sound of the rain that we both love. Again we had lots of help which sped up our process of the tiny house build.
While Ryan and Russell worked on the roof our friend Brian did the windows on the lower level. We didn't build in the framing on that level like we did on the lofts because we were not sure how we were going to lay them out. He built in the framing to add support and make it easy to install the windows when we are ready to do so. We bought the windows a few months ago. The 10 windows are all 24"X24". We can't wait to install them. We already can feel brightness inside from the open framing as you can see in the photo above in the slideshow.
Sierra, Russell's girlfriend helped Hannah with the Tyvek paper. It was a challenging task to wrap between the wheel well along with the wind that was blowing strong. Clay, Ryan's brother took on the task of handing Ryan and Russell the roofing, also battering the wind. He was a trooper by running around to everyone and providing us all with the help each of us needed.
Thank you to everyone who has helped with the build and to all who is reading this blog and providing moral support. We need it!
We are Ryan and Hannah Fullerton. We built a tiny home between fall and spring of 2014-2015. We sold it in may of 2015 and moved into a travel trailer full-time. We love to explore and go on adventures with friends. Our favorite sports are Stand up paddleboarding, and rock climbing. We train hard in the gym so that our bodies are strong and ready for our outdoor activites. Follow us on our journey to live small, but have big adventures!
