There is no better way to celebrate the birthday of our country than to spend it Paddleboarding all over Texas!
1st Night: Leaving right after work, Ryan and I drove to my parents home in Fort Worth Texas to catch a few hours of sleep.
2nd Day: After dropping off our dog Bella with my sister, we took off south to start our first official 4th of July adventure destination. Martindale TX at Shady Grove Campground, which is on the San Marcos River and about 45 minutes south of Austin. This was the meetup spot for our 1020 Crew.
3rd Day: Sunday morning we packed up the campsite and headed out to Austin, Texas.
On our Agenda:
3rd Night: Stayed at a beautiful ranch out in the middle of nowhere!
4th Day: DFW SURF in Dallas, the Firework paddle. What better way to end this adventure packed weekend with some fun paddling. Accompanied by our K9 friends we took off on a day paddle. As the sun was starting to go down, everyone gathered by the boat dock to get ready to watch some fireworks from their Stand up paddle boards. DFW did a great job hooking everyone up with some sweet board brands like Yolo. With all the chaos we jumped into the back of the pack and followed everyone to the gathering spot before the show started. This was the most amazing firework memory to date. We had 4 or 5 different firework shows happening all around us on the lake. Everyone on SUP's boats and pontoons. The bright lights reflecting off the water was mesmerizing, and all of our dogs were too tired after playing so hard to care. Yes, is was a great time.
We are Ryan and Hannah Fullerton. We built a tiny home between fall and spring of 2014-2015. We sold it in may of 2015 and moved into a travel trailer full-time. We love to explore and go on adventures with friends. Our favorite sports are Stand up paddleboarding, and rock climbing. We train hard in the gym so that our bodies are strong and ready for our outdoor activites. Follow us on our journey to live small, but have big adventures!
