Our custom ordered door is installed and locked! Because our tiny house is built on a trailer, cutting metal for the door opening needed to be done. Using a grinder with a cutting wheel we fabricated the trailer a little bit to make our trailer flush with the sub floor.
We needed to make sure that the door frame was square so that the actual door can shut completely closed. Mainly our focus was on the hinge side and from there we adjusted the other side. We then screwed it in place starting with the top to the bottom.
A keypad dead bolt was something we wanted a lot for the tiny house. If we are ever are out of town or want to rent it out for interested tiny life goers then a key code is simple and changeable. The door knob also has separate key if we need to lock both.
We are Ryan and Hannah Fullerton. We built a tiny home between fall and spring of 2014-2015. We sold it in may of 2015 and moved into a travel trailer full-time. We love to explore and go on adventures with friends. Our favorite sports are Stand up paddleboarding, and rock climbing. We train hard in the gym so that our bodies are strong and ready for our outdoor activites. Follow us on our journey to live small, but have big adventures!
