Beginning of the carriage bolt installation through the wall bottom plate, sub floor, and trailer frame. This will ensure that the house framing is securely attached so that no accidents occur while moving our tiny home on the highway.
Toilet installation and exterior venting system is in place. It is a composting toilet so no plumbing is needed! After a few months of composting our waste, we can use the soil for a garden or just to give back to the earth instead of being wasted.
We are in the beginning stages of the electrical. Figuring out the best placement of outlets and lights are important to us. We want to be sure that we have the plug ins where we need them and that the light is also placed strategically to get the most out of them.
There is an addition closet wall and recessed shelving that we are currently working on. This will be a great place for food storage, clothing, and or cleaning supplies. We want to provide some of our own food with a garden and to preserve this food, we will need to do canning. That is one of the options we have in place to store canned goods.
Ryan has also completed caulking the seams on the roof to completely water proof it.
As you can tell, the last couple of weeks of been busy work. Not alot of major tasks are being completed but all the little things add up! We are currently waiting on our orders of the exterior siding, wood stove, and front door to be delivered.
We are Ryan and Hannah Fullerton. We built a tiny home between fall and spring of 2014-2015. We sold it in may of 2015 and moved into a travel trailer full-time. We love to explore and go on adventures with friends. Our favorite sports are Stand up paddleboarding, and rock climbing. We train hard in the gym so that our bodies are strong and ready for our outdoor activites. Follow us on our journey to live small, but have big adventures!
